With the PC releases of 2017 officially in the rear view mirror, it’s time to look ahead to PC games in 2018 and what they bring to the table. 2018 promise to be a huge year for PC gaming as there are many different highly-anticipated releases coming in the next 12 months. Without any further ado, let’s look at some games to PC games to look forward to in 2018.
Far Cry 5
The fifth iteration of the popular Far Cry game franchise will be released on March 27th 2018. This will take place in Montana and you are a deputy for the sheriff’s office who is in charge of taking out a cult. This open-ended shooter will be full of places to explore, things to do, and of course, things to destroy. There is also still a lot of time for them to iron out any issues that might come up in the final touches of the game.
Sea of Thieves
Sea of Thieves has been anticipated for many years now and is finally set to release on March 20th 2018. Sea of Thieves is a pirate-themed MMO, with a twist. You can play alone, but the true selling point of this game is that you can play with a ton of other players as well, with everyone having their own role on the pirate ship. It will feature a vibrant world and cartoonish graphics complete with raids, battles and much more. There will be a ton to do in this game and will likely keep you entertained for a very long time, and it could end up being one of the best PC games in 2018.
A Way Out
A Way Out (which releases on March 23rd 2018) is a game about two convicts who break out of a prison and begin their lives on the run. However, you need a friend to play this game as each of your needs to take control of one of the convicts. This is a very interesting idea and means a more immersive and deeper gameplay with two players’ choices impacting the story and how the game goes. Because the mechanics of this game change every few minutes to keep the experience fresh, you should pick up a solid mouse to make sure your well equipped for the evolving gameplay.
Anthem
While Anthem doesn’t have a specific release date (it will likely be sometime in fall 2018), it already has a lot of hype. It is set in a sci-fi universe that looks very similar to Mass Effect and the game looks absolutely breathtaking. The amazing atmosphere and setting of Anthem will definitely be best enjoyed with a quality headset to make sure you feel as immersed as possible. We haven’t seen too much about this game (in terms of gameplay or plot) so there is a chance it gets delayed, but if it comes out in 2018, we are predicting it will be a major hit.
Monster Hunter: World
The console version of this game is coming out near the end of January, with the PC version likely coming in the fall. This will be the first Monster Hunter game in over a decade to be released that won’t be a Nintendo-exclusive. The game is (as you could imagine) all about hunting and battling monsters in a stunning open-world setting. The creativity of the weapons and the monsters in this game is truly special and the game has all the makings of a hit. In order to arm yourself for battle against these monsters, why not pick up a mechanical gaming keyboard that will ensure you have the upper hand.
