Enjoying movies in the comfort of your home is an electrifying experience. People are now spending more time indoors than before making home theaters grow in popularity. Creating an in-home theater experience prevents you from long movie lines, sticky floors, and the whole leaving your house thing. Choosing an appropriate theater seating and room is just the start of what could make an incredible home theater experience.

With an in-home theater, you can watch new exciting movies at your leisure. The most convenient way to do so is to outfit your system correctly with market-leading accessories. You can also use home theater accessories for practical or decorative reasons. Read on to understand the right accessories to make your home theater functional and comfortable.

Design Ideas

One of the most common home theater design ideas is using two rows of different chairs and creating an aisle on one or both sides of these rows. This closely mimics the kind of seating that can be found in a traditional theater, so the appeal is obvious in its recreation. To create this type of layout, you can choose to use individual seats, sofas, recliners, or more unique seating such as bean bag chairs. There are also bigger types of seating available such as multimedia sofas and loveseats.

The audio-visual component rack, or A/V rack, is the central point for your source components. Consider the A/V rack to be the central brain that controls all entertainment-related activities in the theater.

Source components such as a Blu-ray player, cable box, network media streaming box, and home theater tuner will operate from here. This should be located near an electric outlet and wifi router or hotspot.

Choosing the Right Viewing Experience

Every cinema, TV, and sports enthusiast craves that big-screen experience. There’s just nothing as awe-inspiring as experiencing media on a massive 4K projector in beautiful hi-def 4K resolution right in your own home. The Ultra Short Throw projector has come to the forefront, overcoming the ambient lighting and distance limitations with its compact flexibility and humongous screen size.

Home theaters are spaces where you want to limit ambient light, whether natural outdoor light or light from other rooms. Light-bleed kills video projection images and it even makes flat-screen viewing less enjoyable. On the video projector side, you will need a projector with a high lumens rating if you have some ambient light that you cannot control. Choosing a space that already has little light, such as a basement is a good room choice. If you cannot do this, limit the light with light-blocking curtains or shades.

The latest and greatest in the projector screen world is the Ambient Light Rejecting Screens a.k.a. ALR screens. These screens make for the best viewing experience with their 100-inch massive screen size, easy installation and premium color fidelity. For example, the VAVA ALR screen’s surface filters out up to 92% of the overhead ambient light.

Home Theater Wire Setup

Instead of having your audio equipment visible, you can hide it in the ceilings or the walls to provide more space for displaying other decor or adding in more seating. If you have posters or other artwork on the walls, you can route speaker cables to surround speakers behind them. If your home is carpeted, it’s likely that you have baseboards lining a lot of rooms. Baseboards are typically installed slightly off the floor in order to allow space for carpeting. There should also be a gap between the tack strip and the wall, underneath the carpet and baseboard. This area makes for a great way to discreetly run speaker wire around and between rooms. Take a section of wire and see if you’re able to tuck it in between the carpet and baseboard with just your fingers. If the space seems tight, try using a slim screwdriver or ruler to gently push the wire towards the wall until it no longer shows.

Hidden home theater wiring is aesthetically appealing and the wires are protected from external damage while increasing their longevity. With a UST projector like the ones in the VAVA line, you won’t have to worry about long cables running to and from your unit.
