What's HDR10?

HDR10 is an open standard announced by the Consumer Technology Association. Its main specifications include:

1)EOTF (Electro-Optical Transfer Function):SMPTE ST 2084
2)Color Sub-sampling:4:2:0
3)Bit Depth: 10 bit
4)Color space: ITU-R BT.2020
5)Metadata:SMPTE ST 2086、MaxFALL、MaxCLL

Compared to HDTV, HDR10’s BT.2020 color space is much wider than the BT.709 color space used by HDTV. Also, with a bit depth of 10-bits, HDR10 can display up to 1 billion colors which make the image more colorful and provide more details.
